I just fitted an Audio Silente idler to my 301. It is superbly made and each one is ground to extremely fine tolerances. Simone kindly sent me new bronze motor bushings too, which I will get around to fitting. It actually does seem like there is less background noise now, so maybe there is something in the name. If nothing else it looks a lot nicer than the old original idler wheel. I didn’t try fitting the replacement idler bushings supplied, because it didn’t seem like there was any play, and also the instructions say to use the factory ones if they are quiet, which they seem to be. At least I have spares of those if and when the need arises.
