Heilung is an experimental folk music band made up of members from Denmark, Norway, and Germany. Their music is based on texts and runic inscriptions from Germanic peoples of the Bronze Age, Iron Age, and Viking Age. Heilung describe their music as “amplified history from early medieval northern Europe”. Their music is usually about Norse deities, jǫtnar, and valkyries. “Heilung” is a German word meaning “healing” in English. (Wikipedia)

This live show from 2017 is amazing. The sound is superb, and the theatrics are so cool. Sort of like a more primal, darker Dead Can Dance. Even more amazing is the fact it was their debut live show.
For a long time I have been an enthusiast of pagan practises and music, and I have seen a steady shift in my musical focus over the years to this sort of thing. I guess all that Scandinavian Black Metal was just a gateway into this.
Revolver Mag did a nice write up of them here, and Metal Hammer here.
