A few pics of my vintage Rega Planar 2 before I sell it.
It has been in storage for many years, taking up space, so I have decided to move it on. It’s a really nice early walnut plinth version, most likely from the very first production run as the motor codes indicate a 1975 build date for the motor. I think it looks better than the newer generations of Regas.
It has the old R200 arm on it, which I have rewired with Audio Silente wire, and a classic old A&R C77 cartridge, for which I have a spare stylus as well.
It got a new belt, a new lid, mat and motor capacitor as well.
Gave it a listen and it sounds like a good old Rega, no fuss, good sound. Hopefully someone buys it, it would be great for anyone who just wants to listen to music and not worry about audiophile frippery.
