I recently picked up a secondhand Acoustand ATH-02 headshell. I had planned to get one of these anyway, so when this appeared I grabbed it. Mine is anodised black, but you can get them in silver too.

It’s made of CNC’d aluminium in a satin anodised finish and is a clever design that makes adjustment of azimuth, offset angle and overhang really easy. It came with some perfectly serviceable headshell wires, but I replaced them with some I made using some really fine copper litz and some nice Project Audio cartridge tags.
I’m going to mount an old Ortofon MC20 Super cartridge I have to try it out, and then maybe will try the Supex. I don’t expect a huge revelation in terms of sound or tonality, but the ease of adjustment and set up will be handy. It’s fairly heavy at ~16 grams, so we shall see how it goes.
